About Me and the Blog

    

    My name is Noinah. I am a Thai international student currently attending DePauw University. I am a computer science major and possible mathematics major or Data science minor. I'm also serving as the robotics club's secretary. I'm well-known among my friends for being an athlete outside of class. I've been playing basketball for the past seven years, and I'm hoping to keep this commitment going. Other than that, I have a few pastimes that I enjoy. When I'm by myself, I like to listen to music, especially songs by my favorite K-pop group, Seventeen, or browse YouTube for fresh content.I enjoy cooking and eating on delicious traditional foods with my friends when we are together.I appreciate all the little things that comes my way and am grateful for it all.

    I began speaking English for the first time when I entered a bilingual nursery school. My parents thought teaching their child English would be a fantastic life skill. From there, my parents encouraged me to further my English, which enabled me to enroll in an international school during my high school period. I can honestly say that I have improved my English skills over the years. However, I was never placed in an environment where everyone around me only spoke English. Coming to America was a dramatic change and a significant challenge for me. The culture and English that were thrown at me were honestly overwhelming at first. I was fortunate to have amazing professors and classmates who supported me. However, I recognized that I still have a long way to go in terms of improving my writing.

    The purpose of starting this blog is for a class project in English. However, it's also a place for me to document my experiences and show how my writing has evolved over time. I'm hoping that this platform will allow me to freely express myself while also developing my writing skills. Hopefully, through my experience, I will be able to pass on my method of honing my writing skills to the reader.
